By number of leaves:
Double blade: With a simple structure, it is suitable for small ships or scenarios with low sensitivity to vibration, but the thrust distribution is uneven and there are few commercial applications.
Three leaf blade: the mainstream choice for medium-sized ships, balancing thrust and noise, and ensuring stable efficiency during long-distance navigation.
Five blade and above: commonly used in large ships and submarines, providing greater thrust but high cost, suitable for heavy-duty or high maneuverability scenarios.
Adjustable by pitch:
Fixed pitch propeller: Fixed pitch, low cost, suitable for ships with stable speed.
Adjustable pitch propeller: By adjusting the pitch through the hub mechanism, it can adapt to multiple working conditions (such as tugboats and warships), but the design is complex and the maintenance cost is high.
